HELP: Recommendation on Standalone VHS to DVD Recorder around $200

It's about time to do something about my bulky tapes. Picture and sound quality-wise, I'm not sure what I can expect with this kind of money, but I have a few questions about the setup though.

A) Would I be able to connect the VCR as well as DVD to TV tuner card through VHF/UHF port?
B) A way to work around Macrovision?

These must be incredibly naive questions, but I'm new at this, and if someone can give me some feedbacks, I'd appreciate it very much. 🙂
