Help! Recommend some iPod replacement headphones

I can't stand the stock iPod headphones. I need a pair that is fairly reasonable in price (less than $75) and won't fall out when running or working out. Any recommendations?
 
i use sony streetstyle behind the head earphones while at the gym or walking around campus ($20), and I have a pair of Sony MDR-V600's while studying/on the bus/anything non athletic

Eh, not really. I guess it depends on what side of the spectrum you are used to seeing. $100 would be about the bare minimum that I'd pay for headphones.
 
Shure E2C has great sound quality but a lot of people don't like how its fitted into the ear. If you want it to stay in place you might want to try the sony MDR EX71. They have strong bass and it is the most comfortable IMO. I have the Shure E2C and they fall out even when i'm sitting at my desk when i'm at work. You might want to check out www.head-fi.com they have a lot of people who knows a lot more over there. The sony you can get for about $35 at amazon, the Shure you can get it for ~$70...never did try the ER6, heard pretty good review of it, actually the ER6i got a better review because of its new tip design. The koss ksc-35 is the best bang for the buck from many review but never did try it out myself. I personally have the Sony V6 and the Grado SR60, and I like the sound on my V6, but prefers the much more comfortable SR60 for when I'm listening to my headphones for a long time. I also have the EX71 and EX51. The EX71 is much more comfortable than the EX51 but they have the same driver. The sound is a little bit muddy compared to my other headphones, but a vast improvement when compared to stock IPOD headphones.

Best advice I can give you is to try them out and see which one you prefer, because not everyone has the same preference in music and comfort.

Since they are in-canal phones, it really depends on if you can get used to them stuffing inside your ears.
Once you get a good fit in the ears, it's just good music.
 
Thanks a lot! I was going to get the in-ear type, but I read a review that says they fall out easily, especially when you sweat and they start slipping out.
 
I don't like the sound isolating earbuds as you cant hear when people talk to you. I use sennheiser mx500 which is open air. good sound quality.

i use my sennheiser MX's when i run and practice basketball, and they stay in fine.
 
I use the mx500 and I love it. But I'd like something that'll block out the outside sound for my commute since I ride the metro for about an hour and need to ignore the morons who are always talking at the top of their lungs.
