My father just purchased an ipod touch for himself for Christmas. I'd like to get him a good ipod accessory as a present but I'm not sure what to get. He has mentioned getting a clock radio/ipod dock but that seems a bit too cheesy to me and even he's not so sure about that. Anything else? Try to keep it under $300.

Dude I'm not sure there IS an Ipod accessory that costs more than 300 bucks. There's basically 3 choices, either an FM transmitter for listening to it through a radio, or a Nike+, or a clock radio type thing. That's seriously about it.

True. However some of the ipod dock speaker system are huge rip-offs. There are many out there that are more than 300.

the FM transmitter is a good idea thanks. Forgot about those. Agentbolt wow Nike+ is a neat idea, not sure it really fits as a gift but it's a great idea!

Wowa $350 ear buds!!! I'm sure they are good quality but that's really expensive! My father already has an OK pair of Sennheiser surround headphones. They aren't really expensive ones but they sound good. Think these would be really that much better?

it depends on where he uses the ipod the most. If he takes a train to work and listens to his ipod on the train, the IEM's are good for blocking out outside noise so that you can listen at a more moderate volume (rather than blasting away).

if he listens in his car the most, then perhap some sort of connection device to the car stereo would be a good gift whether thats as simple as a cable, or an FM transmitter.

if he listens at home most, one of those speaker boxes with the special ipod connection might be a good investment.

You could get him multiple smaller priced items instead of one high priced one. Maybe an itunes GC, Sena case, some reasonably priced ear buds, AppleCare protection plan, etc.

Get him an iSkin. After two years my sisters ipod (which has been used quite heavily) is still like new and has no issues after I got her one.

iSkin is nice, but I personally prefer the Agent18 cases for their harder shell. I work in a warehouse though so I may get my ipod banded up just a bit more than your average user.

I just picked up one of these. Decent quality for the price. I'm just very irked that I had to pay over $100 on top of my $250 purchase. Stupid UPS brokerage fee!!!!!!!

Interesting but not my kind of product. 100 bucks for shipping a 250 buck product!! Did you know about it at the time of purchase? That would be an immediate show stopper for me for just about any product that I can think of.
