HELP! Raptor installation

Hi,

I just purchased 2 new WD raptors, 1x 36gb and 1x 74gb

I have a chaintech znf3-150 mobo and when i start it up it shows the 2 drives but when i try 2 install windows they dont show up?

ive never installed a sata hard drive b4 so any help with this probles is very much appreciated, thxs

you need the m/b sata drivers and need to press f6 when xp starts to install...not to thread crap but this issue has been covered many many times on general hardware

You're not thread crapping at all; you have a valid point. Searching on just "SATA" would turn about a jillion posts. (OK, maybe slightly less than that)

Qu1cK, you need to use the floppy disk that came w/your motherboard. When Windows Setup first boots up, repeatedly hit F6 until it moves on to the next screen. Then, load up the drivers off the floppy when it tells you "Insert Manufacturers Disk". Windows Setup will then see your SATA drives.

My motherboard did not come with a floppy...

and i dont have a floppy drive on my pc

could it be something 2 do with the raid setup, i just setup a raid1 and clicked auto config

is it onboard raid? if it is you need to go to chaintechs webstie and download the raid drivers foryour m/b

Download the drivers off Chaintech's website. When installing windows, hit F6. Following that, hit S to specify where the drivers are. Windows will search your floppy drive. From here, just install windows normally. BTW, why didnt you get 2 raptors with the same size for raid???
