Hello all,

Maybe someone can help. :) I have the IC7-G with the 2.8c/800FSB P4.

I have the latest BIOS, #19, runnign WinXP Pro SP1. Radeon 9500Pro.

Here has been my issues. First issue was random reboots. Having pretty good knowledge I narrowed it down to my RAM. I was using a 512MB PC2700 stick of Crucial RAMand switched to a paired set of Kingston PC3200 Dual 3200 sticks. Any idea why the motherboard idn't like the origina stick?....bein it was supposed to be supported and all?

Also I have an issue now it seems.

1) I've always had issues with DVI for some reason... sometimes the monitor will just lose sync or whatnot... so I am hooked up normally right now to avoid that issue entirely (any1 know why DVI seems to be such an issue sometimes..no matter what kind of card seems to beused?)

2) the problem I seem to be having now.... In WInXP i have all PowerSaving settings turned off... I just have a screensaver pop on... now when I wake up afetr the PC being on all night with the screensaver happily moving along when I go to hit a key, move the mouse etc the screensaver will just lock up.

Any ideas, comments, or advice guys?

Thanks,
Jason

With an 800 fsb cpu, if you are running at 1:1, the minimum memory is really PC3200. By using PC2700, your memory couldn't keep up. I suppose you could get around that by running at 5:4.

As for screen saver problems, make sure you have the latest drivers. Uninstal the old drivers and do a driver cleaner too before installing the new ones. Also, I have always found screen savers to be problematic on any machine I have ever had. Some work better than others, some have all sorts of conflicts, but in general, they are no good. I just let my monitor go into power saving mode after 15 minutes and avoid the whole screen saver thing.
