I just bought a new motherboard with a p4 and kingston 1066 Rambus and can't get the array to format.
For two days I have been trying to format a striped array setup for performance with the auto setup function and it gets to 58% and doesn't go further.
The drives are 2 western d 8mb ram buffer versions, capacity 120gb.
I stick the WIN 2k pro cd in and it doesnt get any further than 58%.
On bootup after ,my last attempt to format, it says the array is the capacity 2399998?? (which would be each 120gb drive times 2 perhaps, raid config 2+0 and status is functional.
I get the following message from win2k setup
114440mb on disk 0 at ID 0 on 0 bus at Ultra
C: unformatted or damaged 2288224mb
114440mb on disk 0 at ID 2 on 0 bus at Ultra
C: unformatted or damaged 114432 mb
upartitioned space 8 mb
I have deleted the c partition and started from scratch also.
Should I getting 2 lines with info on the unformatted or damaged space?
These drives are fine, I just moved them out of an old system that wasnt used much, they are only 6 months old.
ANY ideas folks???
