HELP: RAID 0 not working

I have two 36.7Gb Raptor drives and Im trying to configure them in RAID 0. I have done this many times, but always used a PCI Raid Controller Card. The problem is that after I boot from the Windows XP Pro cd and "press [F6] to install the 3rd party RAID or SCSI drivers" It doesnt show my raided drives as a single drive. I made sure the array was correct and everything looks good even in the BIOS up until I get to installing windows onto the drives. Any ideas?....I seem to be stuck.

If you haven't gotten the hint by now, we'll spell it out for you: there is no place, and no need for a RAID-0 array on a desktop computer. The real world performance increases are negligible at best and the reduction in reliability, thanks to a halving of the mean time between failure, makes RAID-0 far from worth it on the desktop.

I saw that also, thanks. I would still like to fix this problem and get the RAID working though.
 
Which controller are you connected to, the nForce or Marvell?

I'm trying to download your manual but the Epox website is not cooperating. I'm not going to wait another 1:13 minutes to see it.

I'm thinking there has got to be an obscure BIOS setting you've overlooked. If you can't find anything that jumps out at you, try moving the drives to the other controller.

Without seeing the manual, that's all the help I can offer. Sorry.
 
I have a feeling that the problem is in the BIOS. If it is not configured right in the BIOS, XP setup will not see the RAID array. Might also look into the driver for the controller card and see if you need to install that also during XP setup. Good luck.

With certain mobos and BIOSes, a RAID 0 setup is the only way a SATA drive can be used at all, because the SATA ports are linked in BIOS to the RAID Fastrack driver (Asus P4PE.) I agree that with two drives, RAID 0 is pointless - use RAID 1.
