I have done everything ATI's tech support page has requested, yet my new Radeon VE won't let Windows 2000 Pro load. I fear that it is a motherboard incompatibility. I have an Abit KA7-100 with the newest version of the bios installed. Any other suggestions or insite would be much appreciated.

No. It won't load in Safe Mode. I did try to loop hole around the startup by putting in a PCI video card too, and installing the drivers for the Radeon. Once the drivers where installed I removed the drivers for the PCI card, removed the card, and rebooted with the newest drivers for the Radeon installed. It didn't work. It still froze on startup.

If you would have booted with that PCI card and then installed Standard VGA drivers instead of the Radeon Drivers, you probably would have been OK.

You need to boot up with Standard VGA drivers and install the Radeon Drivers while in windows.

Is your motherboard looking for an AGP card? Which drivers are you using? Have you removed instances of your old card from the registry?

I initally just had the PCI card in, and I did load the VGA drivers. It wouldn't get past the startup screen. Yes my motherboard is looking for an AGP card. It properly outputs all data to the screen prior to Windows loading. I wiped my system prior to the installation, and I have formatted the drive 3 times since then. The drivers that were installed for the Radeon VE were w2k_radeon_5_13_01_3102.

Thanks for your input. I am looking forward to the next responce.
