Help - Radeon 9800 Pro Problem

When i play a new game with 16AF and 6AA selected in display properties, i notice the game crashes after about 5 - 10 mins of play and i get a blank blue screen (i have to do a cold restart on my computer).

Older games run fine with 16AF and 6AA. Is this because i should select "application preference" in the display properties for AA and AF when running new games?

SPECS:
P4, 2.6GHZ,
512RAM,
WINXP (HOME),
DX9.0B,
ATI RADEON 9800 PRO 128DRR,
CATALYST 4.2 DRIVERS

if you select "application preference" in the cp, most likely it won't be applied in the game unless there are specific settings within the game.

as for the crash problem, do you have 8x agp enabled? i've seen that cause this situation often. if so, set it back to 4x mode in smartgart cp tab, or update your mb bios to the latest version.

hope that helps.

I'd say check your temps first and see if they are OK, then disable FastWrites, then drop from 8x to 4x for your AGP setting.
