I recently ordered an ATI R8500 (64MB, 275/275MHz) bulk/OEM from an online vendor. In an attempt to hook up both of my 19" monitors, I found that the DVI port is apparently DVI-D (it doesn't have the "slot" and four pins on the side that are on DVI-I)--and therefore is of no use to me. The question to you ATers--did ATI ever ship a regular 8500 with only DVI-D? Their website says DVI-I for the standard 8500. I know some of the LE versions have DVI-D connectors (see them at newegg).
The question is highly important to me--if the vendor KNOWINGLY sold me an LE overclocked to 8500 specs, there will be legal action on my part (I don't take fraud lightly--especially on my nickel). But I don't want to falsely accuse the vendor. I have already emailed ATI, but i have no idea how quickly they will respond. Also, I will keep you ATers updated on what I find out--so that IF the vendor is being dishonest, you can cease to buy from them.
Thanks in advance for any help--its GREATLY appreciated.
