ok, i need to put something on a friends machine, they have the drives shared and all i need to do is log on!! what is the syntax i can use in IE?

i have their IP and the name of the shared directory

this person is running millenium...
 
you can do this:

start>run>type in "//ipnumbergoeshere/" without the quotes

I think that should work.

<edit> or maybe it's \\ipnumbergoeshere\

okay.. copy all the files to floppies... then run them over to his house. easy.

or, teach your friend to set up an FTP (and maybe after that, you could teach him how to read). moron friends suck.

what kind of internet connection are you guys using?
if is cable or dsl or faster, you can upload it to him at a reasonable time
 
icq or msn messanger can send/recieve files, or heck just get your butts on IRC and DCC the files to each other
 
why dont YOU set up an FTP server and let him download it off of yours. Using an ftp client is much easier then setting up an ftp server, and even if he cant use the ftp client, you could always go and do it for him.
