Help...Q9550 on Ip35 Pro wont post!

I just bought a Q9550 today to upgrade from an Q6600.I take out the mobo battery and clear the cmos and everything before turn it on,try 1 stick of ram,but it just wont post at all.I did some research on this board and find out that bios17 and earlier wont support E0 stepping,only 18 beta does.so i got bios18 ready in my thumbdrive to flash but cannot boot into bios to do so.are there any other possibilty way to get it to post?Thanks

u would need to put back the Q6600 flash the bios, then install the Q9550.

You didnt get rid of your Q6600 did u?

yeah i got rid of the Q6600 before find out about compatibility issue.thats why iam stuck now, no extra ram to test also.

You can buy a new BIOS chip from http://www.biosman.com, if that would be easier than borrowing a cpu.

i have flashed to bios 18 beta today but it still wont post.This board sucks,period.

Could you possibly have a bad 9550 chip if you were able to use another cpu to flash the bios earlier?

LOL... i water cooled that board with very dismal results.

My ip35-e is great, sorry to hear the pro version might be subpar ..
i've purchased bios' before for other boards, cost about 20 bucks at the time. badflash.com was the site I used

dph1077 makes a good point, i've gotten a bad intel cpu before :/
don't rule that out

my ip-35 pro works with my Q9550 (c1) but I do remember the C0 having issues. Have you tried the modded version of the b18? You can find it here http://www.lejabeach.com/ABIT/IP35Pro/M629B18ZZZ.zip

Maybe, just maybe that will work. This BIOS also adds read and phase delay as well as performance level adjustments to the memory section.

I'm currently in the process of upgrading the motherboard to something newer using a P45 chipset.

yes i've already try bios18 but no luck.Going back to the store today hopefully they let me exchange for a core i5.
