Help!, Q3, DX8, & Win 2k...

My roomate just got his celII 566 to 980! (it maxed out, we even tried 2.1 v) = ( , but for some reason he can't get Q3 to work,... could it be DX8 not compatible with his TNT2? or do you guys think it's more a problem with compatibility with Win 2K or DX8? he tried quake before at a lower clock setting and it also didn't work... suggestions?
 
the error is that once he tries to play "single mode" the game freezes up on him and the video goes wacky...
 
well, he doesn't really have much on his sytem yet...
he has two systems, and he's mainly using them for internet and media/web page products... 1 system is a "macromedia" system and the other runs "Adobe" software... but we were trying to setup Q3 and CS so we could Frag a bit = )

it works now, he used the actual drivers and put in the CD-Key... sweet
