help->pyro+cdrw doesn't get recognized

I'm using a pyro drive kit with an iomega 12x10x32 burner. Windows sees it as a cd-rom but when i go to to burning softwares, none of them see it at all. Is there something else I need to do? thanks

I have that exact problem with my AOpen 1232Pro. Nero is the only software that will detect the drive.

The deal that you are having is that the software you are using doesn't recognize your burner. Unlike CD-ROM drives which use generic drivers, each burning software package has to specifically incorporate support for each burner or it will not work.

Try CDRWIN from here.

OK... i might have a solution for you...

The Iomega 12x10x32x is basically a Plextor drive that has been re-marked.

You can convert it back into the Plextor drive by following these instructions. I've done the equivalent to that on an HP burner and had great results. Do so at your own risk.

Good Luck.
