Help - PSU or MoBo causing boot problem

*** I'm posting this in two different forums in hopes of getting quick answer.

I soft power off my computer and leave it. When I try to start it up again, it won't even get a video signal or go into BIOS. If I leave the computer in sleep mode, it comes on just fine.

Temp fix = turn computer off using front power switch, THEN turn off PSU at switch. Turn PSU back on, then turn computer on with front power switch.

I've replaced the mobo battery, so that's not it. I did not install anything new, so there's no new hardware/software involved.

So, what's the cause? Mobo or PSU?

The mobo is an Asus P5K Deluxe, BIOS 0705
The PSU is a Corsair HX620W.
There are 3 SATA Western Digital HDDs, 2 DVD+RWs, Creative X-Fi board, and an 8800GTX. Power is on a dedicated 15 amp line with just other computer stuff (printer, monitor, etc.)
