I recently build a PC with Biostar TZ77B (no IDE).
I have a Promise Ultra 133 TX2 PCI Card to connect my SONY DRU-190A DVD burner.
It takes much longer than expected at reading/writing, and fails to burn dvd properly.
During boot-up, it detects the DVD burner on the card is at UDMA4.
I dug around online. Most people said that the Promise Ultra 133 TX2 PCI Card that have the DVD burner stuck at PIO mode... then I wonder why mine states UDMA4 detection.
Most solutions are either switching IDE connection to on-board or changing to a SATA burner.
I'm looking for a way to keep both the card and burner.
By the way, I can't find the IDE/ATA controller in Windows 7 to check whether the DVD burner is at the right transfer mode.
Any help would be appreciated.
