Hi Y'all,

I just installed Norton Ghost and AOL instant messanger on a comp as the network administartor. Now, I can't use the programs, they're not even vivible, under a standard user. I never had this problem before, so does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

As Always,
D

Did you check the permissions? Can you put a link to the program in the all user's profile's desktop or whatever? Will it work then?

In NT for a programs start menu shortcuts to be visible to all users the shortcuts must be in "All Users". What you need to do is navigate to the Administrator's start menu in Documents and Settings and copy/move the shortcuts to the "All Users" start menu. If you move, go to the directory above where you dropped the shortcuts in, it will probably be Program Files as long as you don't have some wild nesting scheme 😉, right click on it and select the security tab. Click on the Advanced button, then at the bottom check the "Reset Permissions....." checkbox. Then click apply.

If you move the shortcuts and leave out the last step you'll see the icon but it won't do anything.
