Help!....Problems with DVD to TV

I have my DVD drive and hollywood plus decoder hooked up to my TV and as a dvd is playing the picture gets lighter and darker. Anyone have experience with this ? It is really frustrating.

Sounds like Macrovision, a form of copy-protections. The movie indistry gets annoyed with people who don't impliment it, so all DVD accelerator cards have it. I beleive tools like DVD genie can remove it.

However it is probably causeing problems because you have a device between the TV-out and the TV?? A vcr will cause this problem

That is a possibility. It is an older TV with no Aux or VCR station for a line signal, so the VCR is in between.
I will try hooking it up to my tv upstairs and see what happens.(hahaha frigging cables everywhere, the old lady will love it)
