I just got a new system 4 weeks ago
xp1700
msi k7t266a pro2
Sb live value
win98se

The problem lies with the video card - Asus V7100T geforce 2 MX 400 were after one returns to use the computer the monitor comes off suspend mode and the screen is all blurry as if someone took a paintbrush and smear all the pixels. The computer has crashed. The screen is still, and I can see the mouse perfectly move across the blurred screen. Ctrl alt del will restart the computer.
The video card works very well in games and the computer does not crash often with respect to win os

Soon after this was happening I was receiving a windows protection error while intializing device NTKERN --- this error is given due to defective RAM.

So what is your opinion on this. Is it the RAM or video card?
Is there a way you can test the RAM?
Could it be the memory on the video card.
Thanks

There is such thing as a RAM tester that most computer stores have.
I know some people that run a small computer store and they let me test
RAM for free. You might be able to find a small store in your area that will
test it for you free of charge.
