Help! Problem installing memory

RC159

Senior member
I have a ECS mobo. When I install the memory(in the correct slot or any slot) It takes about 20 tries before before the PC will boot up. I get the long beeps)Theres no problem with the memory. I think the problem is the mobo.
If I upgraded the bios, is there a chance that could fix the problem? Once the PC reconizes the memory, It
restarts everytime with no problems. Only have problems when I try to install more memory, or take the one stick out to add another stick. I will leave it alone until I get an answer. Thanks in advance.

It's likely that u just didnt press the memory in enough, or somehow the memory and the mobo are not properly connected...

A BIOS upgrade will probably not fix the problem...

But as long as it's fine now, just leave it... I dont think there's anything wrong with ur mobo or your memory...

Yea, It sounds like its not seating correctly, but I've installed 100's of memory in PC's and never had it installed incorrect. You push it down until you hear a click and thats all there is to it. I don't know. Maybe just a problem with the mobo.
