Have a lexmark Z42 printer(USB connection). The system worked fine until I installed the driver for win2k/xp in the CD. The connection isn't established and I also couldn't turned the system off normally( it just hang on there). I tried to uninstall the driver but there is no entry in "add/remove program". So I download the newest version of driver and reinstalled the driver but problem still exists. I also updated the usb driver from Via but still it didn't work either. Now I want to unistall the driver and repeat the installation process, and I think I could only do it by deleting the registrty entry of laxmark. I wonder if this way is right or not: search all the entry containing "Laxmark" and delete it. Forgot to mention that my scaner(USB) works fine on both usb slots and the printer works fine on my laptop.
My system is Athlon XP1500/Shuttle AK31/Win2k_SP2, BIOS is not the newest version but the updates have nothing to do with USB. Thanks for any suggestion.

Not every printer installs S/W entries in the Add/Remove Programs list. Deleting the printer from the printer list will do the trick. Don't mess up with the registry, it's painfull and it sucks too!
