HELP. Printer problem in NT

I have a HP 1100 attached to a workstation at the LPT1 port. As administrator I install the printer as a local printer and print from WordPerfect at that workstation. I and any authorized user can go to another workstation and print from WordPerfect to that HP printer as a network printer. However, when a regular user logs in at the workstation with the printer attached, they cannot print from WordPerfect.

So, to summarize, I, as administrator, can log in and print. A regular user cannot. What am I missing here? I have given authorized users full print permissions on the printer.

Okay, I will try that tomorrow. But, shouldn't I be able to install a printer on the workstation without having each user install it? None of the users can use the printer from the workstation with the printer physically attached. However, in our main record-keeping program, users can print. They just cannot print in WordPerfect. But as I said, I can when logged in as administrator.

Make sure you share out the printer. It should have a little blue hand under it.. from there go to printer menu can find the workstation computer name and dlbe click on the 1100 printer icon,, you have to do this for every user you plan to print to that printer

I have got the printer shared. I had users try to intall the printer when they logged in. I re-installed WordPerfect 8 and latest service pack. None of this works. The funny thing is, users can print from other programs, just not Word Perfect. Any other ideas are appreciated.

I downloaded the latest driver from HP and still no luck. It is unbelievable that this is not working.

Well you can try this... but I think this will work for you.. All you have to do is install another printer drive to winnt workstation add the printer "HP LaserJet" (DON'T Worry this printer driver is genric and will work for all HP LJets) you won't be able to use anything of the special fonts. Set Word P to use the LJ printer driver as default and 1100 for the others..
