Help! - Popping/cracking with CD Audio in Win2K

I can't seem to get Win2k to enable digital audio from the cd rom drives in my system, no matter how many times I select that option and restart. When I connect an analog cable from the cd rom to the sound card (Acoustic Edge), I get sound, but it cracks and pops. Media player can play music from the drive with digital audio enabled in the settings, but it once again cracks and pops. Could this problem maybe be poor ASPI drivers? If so, could someone post a link to where I might download some updated ones?

Thanks!

I have cracking when listening to both mp3s and cds, but it is because my sound card doesn't have Win2K drivers. Are you sure the sound card drivers are installed correctly?

btw-you can find the aspi drivers here

mp3's, games, etc sound just fine. I've installed the lastest drivers, so I don't think that's the problem. Any other ideas?

Didn't overclock my PCI bus. I've given up. Don't by Hercules (at least the GTXP). I still think crapware from that card is the bug in my system. Once I reformatted and reinstalled everything, with an Acoustic Edge instead of the GTXP, everything worked fine.

Thanks for the help!
