I purchased the asus maximus v gene and ( i am new to computer building) i noticed it does NOT have the what i call standard monitor connection. the 2 screws to secure. On the mobo It has a hdmi connection for the iGPU(i believe).. I have a hdmi connection for my tv that goes into my gopro so i can watch on my tv . but this is not the same kind of connection.. So my question is.. What do i need to connect a display? Is this hdmi connection on the board different then whats on my tv? Do i need to buy a new monitor and cable for that board? Im pretty sure i could just buy a gpu with the other connection but i dont wanna do that. Some help would be greatly appreciated.

Also i notice their is an additional 8 pin eatx connector on my mobo and i have the corsair tx650 v2 which i dont see the 8 pin connector. is their something i can do?

What are you expecting from a "2 screws to secure" connector? This?

And your PSU does have connector(s) for that 8-pin plug. It takes two 4-pin connectors next to each other.

So you need this adapter instead. Probably. Not all digital outputs also include the analog VGA signal, but this one probably does.

EPS12V connector is probably made by joining 2 4 pin connectors that are usually zip tied together out of the power supply. fwiw you don't *really* need it unless you're running particularly high wattage CPUs, but it doesn't hurt (though you usually do need at least the 4 pin plugged in).

Yep, the Newegg description lists it as "1 x 4+4 Pin CPU".
