Help plz Sound Card or CD Rom trade off

OK well well I have a SB X-gamer and Mitsumi CDRW & Rom drives on a Asus T-Bird MB. CD Roms are fine until I install Sound card then when computer boots back up it says to restart EVERY time to complete installation. If I choose no, I have no ROM drives, If I restart its just repetitious(it tells me to restart). So if I disable sound card, reboot, and reinstall SC, I get sound with no ROM drives. Im using newest 4in1 with the boxed Sound Blaster drivers.

dirty fix....

try removing any extra cards...modem, Nic, decoder..etc....and boot...if it works, ya got a resource problem.

Make sure the BIOS is set to "PNP OS installed" I assume yer running W98, WinME, or W2k
