HELP PLZ ON BOOTING WINDOWS XP!!!!

Apparently, I'm missing a file called Windows\system32\config\system. It says that I can repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original CD-ROM. I have the CD ROM and have gone to the repair menu. Does anyone have any experience with this problem?? Ever?? How did you repair the file??

a popup box should appear that allows you to install the file from a certain location. Insert the CD and point the popup box to the CD drive location. Just use D: (or whatever the drive letter is) and let the system find it by itself.
