Okay so, I've been eagerly awaiting the July 22nd intel price cuts to order my new system. I've had my wish list assembled for a month now, however, I haven't yet ordered as I am waiting for the E6850... I have 2GB of Corsair XMS2 http://www.newegg.com/product/...p?item=N82E16820145590 picked out. When I went to bed 10 hours ago it was roughly $85 after rebate as it has been for weeks. This morning I see that it went up more than $150 over night?! This seems to be absolutely ridiculous, what's going on here? It hardly seems fair that I remain patient with newegg to update its inventory with my processor and refrain from ordering it elsewhere only to have a significant increase elsewhere. Had I simply ordered the processor from another source I would have ordered my RAM at the $85 price. Is this a mistake or is this the actual price?

This leads me to my next question:

As far as I can tell, http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820145178 is the same stuff except obviously more (however please correct me if I'm wrong). Yet it is $30 cheaper after rebate? Why in the world would MORE RAM be cheaper? If these are indeed accurate prices I'll have to bite the bullet and buy it anyways however if I can get 4 gigs for cheaper, why not eh? However I'm not entirely sure if for whatever reason my new build will not utilize 4 gigs. Not sure what specs are needed for you guys to determine that but my motherboard is http://www.newegg.com/product/...p?item=N82E16813130081 and I'll be running vista home premium.

At the very least could someone please suggest a quality, cheaper 2GB alternative?

Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I've never had any issues ordering from them. I stick with Newegg, ZZF, & ClubIT.
Looks like ClubIT has it on the cheap also: link.
