Hello everyone.
It is being some time since I did my build (E6400+MSI P965+2GB+8800GTS 512MB) and I was planing on updating to a i7 rig.

I always build mid range stuff since I don't have a big budget.

This time, it seems I ll have to upgrade a little bit more than last time, that will include CPU+Mobo+Memory+PSU+Case+Video.

I am a little (a lot) outdated on whats the latest stuff so I need lots of advice:

CPU: it seems the 2.66 one is the cheapest and it performs decently so it seems to be the only pick I have.

Mobo: I definitely need help here, I don't need SLI/Crossfire mobos but I do need a stable one.

Memory: What is the minimum this processor needs ? I know higher frecuencies will allow higher overclocks, but I don't plan to overclock it, or if I do it will be just a minor overclock.

PSU: What are the general recomendations here ? I have an Enermax that have been with me 4 years and I love it but I have to let it go.

Case: Open to suggestions.

Video: Im lost here as well, I am not a fanboy of ATI or nVidia but I certainly have had only 1 ATIs since I started building my own systems 10 years ago (gone thru 8 vids).

Cooling: I guess I have to let go my XP-90 as well, it keeps my E6400 cool enough but I think its time for a change.

As I said, I want to keep the computer someway budget and good enough to run the latest things at not too high resolutions (I run a 19" monitor @1440*900, maybe will change to a 21" later)

I have to buy from Amazon since Im not in the US, I have some tentative stuff, but I am all open to sugestions, if you say me some of this is crap or overkill I ll take your word:

CPU: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obi...ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance
Mobo: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obi...ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance
Memory: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obi...ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance
PSU: http://www.amazon.com/Lifetime...&qid=1250093171&sr=8-1
Case: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obi...ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance
Video: http://www.amazon.com/e-GeForc...&qid=1250093343&sr=1-8
or http://www.amazon.com/XFX-HD48...qid=1250094052&sr=1-15
or http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-896...&qid=1250094052&sr=1-1
CPU Cooler: I have nothing clear here so any advice is appreciated.

Thank you very much for your time and help !!!

Personally I think you should get the EVGA 121-BL-E756-TR instead of the MSI X58 Pro. The MSI is nice, but the evga is nicer and the cheapest X58 board to offer a lifetime warranty. If you are a high end gamer, then you should get the Radeon 4890, but if you're a casual gamer you can save $50 and get the GTX 260. I would probably get a corsair 620HX or 650TX for a power supply. quality PSUs are a must these days.

As for cooling, the best 1366 heatsinks on amazon appear to be the scythe mugen 2, cooler master V8, and Noctua NH-U12P SE1366. Everything else looks pretty good. You should be able to settle into a nice low voltage 3.6-3.8 GHz OC for 24/7.

edit: just noticed you're at 1440x900. in that case i would say just get a 9800 GT or whatever you can for $100 or less. it'll run everything fine at that resolution, and at the end of the season when new GPUs are out, upgrade then.

Thank you very much alyarb...I researched a lot more and ended up with these parts:

CPU: http://www.amazon.com/gp/produ...K/ref=ox_ya_oh_product
Mobo: http://www.amazon.com/gp/produ...0/ref=ox_ya_oh_product
Memory: http://www.amazon.com/gp/produ...Q/ref=ox_ya_oh_product
PSU: http://www.amazon.com/gp/produ...U/ref=ox_ya_oh_product
Case: http://www.amazon.com/gp/produ...Y/ref=ox_ya_oh_product
Cooler: http://www.amazon.com/gp/produ...Q/ref=ox_ya_oh_product

I am planning to buy a 22" monitor, so I am going to wait for ATIs Evergreen and then buy either one of the ones or a hopefully cheaper 4890 :)
