Need help figuring out what to do right now i have a nvidia gtx 750ti and im ordering a R9 280x that comes with a drivers disk what do i have to do do i have to put the disc in before i install the new card? uninstall old drivers? like somone please explain the steps to it please thank you

It's pretty easy. Uninstall your old drivers. Download the new drivers from AMD's website (don't use the disk). Install those and restart.

Should be all set to go then. You could do a full registry clean of the Nvidia left overs but I don't think that's necessary anymore.

It is recommended to run DDU too after unistalling the drivers.

I would:

• uninstall old drivers from Control Panel
• run DDU in safe mode (does it automatically when prompted) and then select the "Clean and Shutdown (For installing a new graphic card)"
• After the shutdown, remove the GTX 750ti and install the awsome R9 280x
• Boot computer
• Install new drivers

Having flipped between cards regularly.
1. Download AMD driver from AMD site
2. Control Panel - Uninstall Nvidia drivers
3. Shutdown PC and swap cards
4. Power up PC
5. Install AMD driver

how do i uninstall the drivers off my computer now like does ge force experience count and stuff? And is DDU trusted?

Yeah DDU is perfectly safe. To uninstall drivers you can go to control panels > programs and features > and uninstall anything nvidia related.

I wouldn't. The disk has old drivers and there are fixes and performance enhancements in the new drivers available from AMD's website.

now what would i do for that like what would i need to download or where to go?

They have an auto detect tool that will scan for your card and show you the latest driver or you can select your OS and card from the drop down menus to get the download link.

okay so after install i download that run it detect it and download what ever it says? and one more thing what would happen if any nidvia drivers were left on my computer?

After you uninstall nvidia drivers and install the new card go to that link and let it run the autodetect applet (I think it uses java) and it will give you the download link for the latest driver.

If nvidia drivers were left then I think there would be some driver conflicts causing instability and potential crashing. I've never done that though so I can't say for sure what will happen.

okay ill just uninstall anything nidvia lol thanks man its my first time upgrading gpu i just put in a 750w for this card and i was just nervous about the whole driver thing thanks man

I tell you, DDU will remove EVERYTHING from Nvidia, use it and follow my little guide, best method for no leftovers.

If you have an Nvidia system chipset (Intel 775, AMD AM2/2+), DON'T un-install the system chipset drivers or the ethernet driver. Just the NVidia graphics driver and PhysX driver.

No, you're fine. Some older motherboards had chipsets from Nvidia and needed Nvidia drivers to work.
