help please

just built my new setup and it wont start the fans kick on for less then a second by fans i mean case fans and cpu then it just stops iv got just the board power and 1 stick of ram in any ideas greatly appreaciated

The fans going on and then stopping is a sign there's a problem stopping it from starting up. The fans are a symptom of the problem not a problem to be fixed.

For it to be stopping that quickly i'd think it was a power issue, check you've got the motherboard mounted correctly (remove it and check the mounts) and then check there are no wires causing short circuits. make sure the graphics card and RAM are correctly seated in thier slots and try again.

In future it's best to know the following, if you don't have a clue then fair enough, but otherwise:

What brand of PSU do you have?
What model of motherboard do you have?
One stick or two of RAM?
What geforce board do you have?

the board is a gigabyte idna nf430

On the motherboard? I see, it's got onboard graphics, which makes life easier.

So, the next thing to do is to remove the motherboard and put it back in, checking all the standoffs are in the right place. I sit down with the manual and work through every step it has in there myself.
