Help please!!!

Hello, I have a Dell 1705 with a 7800 go. My daughter had it on a blanket ,no airflow, A message came on and said it had overheated. I tried starting it later but the screen had
lines horizntal on it. I can get it to start in safe mode. Is there a certain way to reset it or to start it?I checked in cmos. windows xp media center.

she probably overheated the cpu or more than likely the gpu. I'd check to see if it's replaceable (the gpu), if not, the boards probably shot. if this is still under warranty, I'd contact dell and let them fix it.
