Trying to help my soon to be divorced sister get her new to her Dell celeron 433 (I know far from new) computer and DSL going. I reformatted and reinstalled Win 98SE. So far so good. When I installed the SBC DSL software the video drivers reverted to VGA 640X480 with 16 colors. Reinstalled the video and got the DSL up and running. Immediately upon a restart the video dropped back to VGA and when the system starts and automatically tries to connect to the DSL the system locks up. ALT+CTRL+DEL has no effect the only way to reboot is by disconnecting the power. I'm stumped. HELP please

Video is integrated onto MOBO, will try changing NIC card slot.

Integrated or no, it's probably still running as a PCI card. Think of it as in the slot that's not there.

Some card combos just don't play nice. I've got a 3com nic that craps itself whenever it's put in a PCI-video system. Runs like a champ under AGP or even ISA though.
