I thought I had the latest version with XP, but apparently not because I could not enable 5.1 surround. I downloaded the new one from Microsoft and I installed the new media player and it plays horribly. It keeps disabling my 5.1 surround (soundblaster audigy with 5.1 speaker setup) and only plays about 2 seconds at a time before spending 30 loading the next 2.

I have an Athlon XP 1700+
MSI KT266 Ultra motherboard.
Maxtor 7200 rpm 40 GB with 15 GB free
512 MB PC2700 memory.
Soundblaster Audigy (OEM)
NVidia Geforce Ti4200 with 128 MB
Below is my windows information and DVD drive info.

Can anyone tell me what setting to change? I thought it was a network issue so I disabled all the internet (disc info) features but it still plays terribly.

Thanks.
