help please: wav -> midi

You realize that the only way to make it sound accurate - or normal, for that matter, is to have that .wav as a sample in whatever MIDI synthesizer you're using, right?

MIDI is NOT a digitized sound format; think of a MIDI file as sheet music, whereas .wav is a recorded sound. The best you can do is take this recorded sound and "transcribe" it onto a blank sheet as accurately as possible, then these notes are played though the internal instruments in your MIDI synth. Since there's no built-in MIDI sample that has this sound, it has to be approximated by the closest thing, which would probably be a xylophone or some other instrument which will end up sounding nothing like the original sound.
