I have two computers. Both are running W2K Server. Both are DCs. The primary DC is also the DNS, WINS, DHCP, CA, and RRAS Server. The secondary DC is acting as a client for testing purposes.
I have setup just a single RAS policy (set to allow access) and one test user with RAS connectivity set to "Control access thru RAS policy" in the user's dial-in tab under properties.
The thing is I can create a VPN connection from the secondary under that user account via username/password authentication, but can connect via certificates authentication.
I only have EAP (certificates) enabled for certificate logons. On the secondary server, after logging into the system via the test user account and installing the user certificates (\\xxx\certsrv), I still can't get authenticated.
What am I doing wrong or what steps/procedures did I skip? Help on this is much appreciated, thx. 🙂
Edit: BTW, this is the error message I get... "Error 919: The remote computer refused to be authenticated using the configured authentication protocol. The line has been disconnected."
