I installed Win2k on a computer for my inlaws. All of a sudden it's asking for a login and password. I know I didn't set that up when I installed it. In any case, is there any way around this other than a reinstall?

I can't get anyone to confess to doing this or I would simply get the password from them.

do a search on google for "win2k passward crack" there are boot disks available that will allow you to change the admin password from the command prompt. Used it many times....

Can't thank you enough. I did a Google search yesterday but only came up with L0phtCrack which seems to require that you already have admin priviledges which wouldn't have helped me at all.

If you didn't alter the defaults when you installed w2k you'll be able to get in using "Adminstrator" as user and leaving password blank.

Leaving the administrator password blank is a dumb idea BTW.
