Help please ;.) (now it has the problem)

EDIT:: OOps, forgor what eneter ddid in the forum

So this is my problem:

My friends WIndows ME doesn't boot.
SO he tried to reinstall windows BUT it never worked.
Either way, Dell told him to reformat his HDD but as you could guess he has stuff on there he doesn't want to lose.
So I took his HDD and plugged it into my computer and copied the contents into a folder.

Now here's where my real problem starts:
My windows xp doesn't boot anyomore (nor does safe mode)! It gets to the logo screen witht the blue bar moving and windows never opens. I want to run scan disk but I cant beacause the windows boot up choices don't include DOS I'm pretty screwed. Other problem is that I have 2 100 gig HDD's in RAID-0 so when I use a dos boot disk It doesn't recognize it (or maybe it does, but its not C:\)

A couple minutes afterr the copying, my computer froze and gave me a blue screen saying widows had shutdown, ad at least one of my HDDs spun down and sup a couple of times. Then when it booted my RAID chip said that the second HDD had failed but it didn't say that again after booting..
I have a GA-VRXP mobo and a 1800+ wit 512 megs of ram.

EDIT:: BTW windows wont reisnstall or do that recovery thing and just stay's where it says "examining drive xxxx" at the bottom of the screen.

could be a virus.............
You may have to find an anti virus that you can run from a bootable cd and see if you can scan your HDs with it.

how can I do that wiht my HDD's plugged into the RAID controller? Do some bootable virus allow for additional drivers? Either way, I haven't seen DOS drivers for my controler, just windwos 9x and later.
