HELP please K7A 266 and ati all in wonder 128

Well, If I change my resolution to anything higher than 256 colors.
in win 2k.. with mobo ASUS K7A 266.. THe machine freezes literally freeze.. I have to reset.. This is running with ddr ram. I have the 16 meg all in wonder 128 could not dig up anything useful from ati nor asus.. I was wondering could someone tell me the correct settings thanks..

 
Thanks my mobo is already 1004.. revision Iw ill try the beta.. I appreciate.. I have installed all the agp drivers for the mobo.. well, I reinstalled win2k 8 times for nothing until I found out.. my video card was the problem.. hopefully new beta one will fix it.

 
Technical Support from ATi has asked to try changing one of the options in the BIOS....but that option does not exist for the A7A266.

At this point, the only thing that you can do is to change your video card.
