HELP please...is my PS the culprit?

Hey guys I could use your help,

I recently bought a new computer in august from ABS and it just suddenly stopped powering on last night (it had been running fine and extremely stable for a month and a half). I was using it last night and then decided to clean the case. I cleaned it out with a compressed air can to blow out some dust that had accumulated in the case. After getting rid of the dust I tried to boot up. I pressed the power button but the system fans will not turn on; all that happens is an LED next to the ATX power supply input on the motherboard (Gigabyte GA-7VRX) will light on orange, but noting else. I think the power supply (although perfectly intact with no apparent signs of a burn-out) has stopped working. I have cleared the CMOS, checked the on/off button on the rear of the PS, checked the voltage input selector (115), and all connections. I swapped RAM with my roomates computer and that did not solve the problem. I then hooked my mobo to the power supply on my roomates computer and sure enough the fans turned on and it started to boot-up...so I am assuming this is a problem with MY power supply????

I am not sure what to do...I can go to Fry's tomorrow and pick up a 350W or 400W ps, preferrably an Antec or Enermax...

ARGHH!! this is so annoying..., being in college w/o a working computer is like hell... i can't do my CS assignment for wed. without it!

It could be something simple. Perhaps a fuse in the power cord (I assume all US plugs are fused?). Try swapping it for another and try again.

Bad news if it is the PSU. Hope your computer was dusty enough to warrant spending the money on a new PSU.

Well, i tried again this morning. When I pushed the on button on my computer the system and ps fan twitched and then nothing happened, so it looks like its the ps. Well I guess Ill just have to eat it for now and get a ps from Fry's today...hopefully I'll have my computer up and running this afternoon. Thanks guys!
