I understand the general idea and can do simple ones using power series, but this one has me stuck.

y''-xy'-y=0

about the point x0=1

so I get:

inf
sum of: (a......(n+2)(n+1)-xa.......(n+1)-an)(x+1)^n=0
.n=0........n+2......................n+1

.......... are used to space things out.

I can't get to the recurrence relation because there's an x left over and I don't know what to do with it. do I just leave the x in there???

help me please

figured it out, the equation can be moidified to be:

y''-(x+1)y'+y'-y=0 and handled normally from there :D
