HELP Please both CD drive disappeared from windows

I have 1 CD-Rom and 1 CD-writer, I removed the cd-writer from my system and took it to my cousin when i placed it back in my system both drives disappeared from windows
also they are not getting detected during POST.

Help me

What OS are you using and what burning program are you using....I had the same problem with XP Pro...I lost my CDrom and burner...I had to finally do a new install of the OS to get them back...I found somewhere that NERO had a problem with XP...

I have WinMe and I use Nero.

Are both drives on the same IDE channel? If they are try putting one on the Primary as a slave

They are on the same channel and jumpers are set correctly.
