Hello all. Another newbie with a problem. I recently purchased an "unlocked" LG Optimus L5 E612. I want to use it on Straight Talk's network, so I bought a ST SIM card. However, I cannot change the T-mobile APN to the ST APN. The calls and SMS systems seem to work, regardless. However, I'm not getting any of the longer or picture messages. Can anyone help???

I really like the phone on other points, but I would like to address these issues.

Thanks, in adavance.

For Android, I believe you just go to Settings, click more under wireless and networks, then select mobile networks.

You should be able to create a new APN profile there.

I appreciate your getting back to me so quickly! However, I should have said I have tried no less than 20 times to change my APN that way...guess I keep hoping the NEXT time will work. D:

I have also tried using three different APN managers...to no avail. Hope someone can help me out. I have contacted LG support, but so far, I haven't heard anything.

Does anyone know why I WOULDN"T be able to change the APN? Any help at all would be appreciated.

If by 'can't change' you mean that your settings don't save, I had the same problem when using an unlocked phone on a different carrier. After trying everything I could think of, I finally wound up making 2 different apns, one with the sp, proxy and port, the other with just the mmsc and mms info in it.
Stupidest thing ever, but it worked perfectly until I flashed a custom rom wound up not having to enter anything at all.
Good luck!

stormkroe -- thank you so much for your help! I tried it and it really WORKED! I now have two APNs from ST, but it doesn't seem to matter. I won't really know until someone sends me a picture msg.

Not sure what a "custom rom" is so I probably won't be flashing it! A thousand thanks!
