I have a peer to peer LAN connecting three computers connected to a switch. I have one other computer connected to the same switch so as to gain access to the ADSL internet connection using the modem and router with a static IP address. This same one other computer only can be accessed by a remote location computer via a vpn connection.
I connected all four computers to the same switch with an external modem and router. Everyone had access to the internet using the ADSL connection. I then configured the router for the vpn for the remote location. The remote location computer can connect and access but it keeps being disconnected six or seven times a day. We need it to stay on nine hours a day.
If I disconnect the other three computers from the switch, then the remote access computer stays connected with no problems.
I need for all computers to have ADSL internet access and the remote to stay connected for nine hours.
Could I connect and configure another ADSL router to the same switch and both routers connect to the internet using the same static IP address or configure the second router to use DHCP to have a dynamic IP address assigned to the other three computers only?
Any other thoughts, suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
