I just built an entirely new system on friday. Then yesterday I bought a copy of dawn of war for no it seems when
my video card gets pushed by the game the graphics card will quit responding to drivers or just plain stop working
and the screen will go black. Any help is very much appreciated.

Please list the spec's of your new build (including the power supply)

What motherboard/chipset drivers (the ones on the installation disk, or have you d/l'd and installed newer ones?)

Same as above for the 9800 pro (re: drivers)

How are your system/case temps or how many case fans?

480 Watt Power Supply
MB Asus K8N-E Deluxe
CPU Athlon 64 3400+
1 Gig Corsair 3200 ram
74GB Raptor

The video card has the most up to date drivers from site.

MB Drivers are still the ones from CD.

I'm not OCing at all but the case has 2 120mm fans 1 intake 1 outtake. THe cpu fan 2 fans on the power supply
and a little fan on the video card.

That enough that you could possibly help?

If you need any more info just say so.

Well,

My thoughts on your situation were (1) inadequate PSU, (2) outdated drivers and (3) heat.

480 watts would apear to be sufficient, unless it's a cheapo (like Powmax) in which case the "big" number is meaningless. You might try checking the molex connector to the 9800 pro, and make sure nothing else is on that connection (like a HD).

I would go ahead and update the mobo drivers and see if that clears it up. You'll want the new ones in there anyway.

Have you run the DX diag proggie to see what, if anything turns up?
