Hi,

I am considering the Compaq Presario 2800T as my PC. I will play games like Medal of Honor and IL2 Sturmovik (probably at 1024x768) and MS Office at 1600x1200 (on an external monitor).

Base Spec is 1.6Ghz P4 with 32MB Radeon 7500 Mobility, 512MB RAM, 40GB Hard Drive, 15" SXGA+ screen.

Will this suffice, or should I upgrade to a 1.7GHz (+$100) or 1.8GHz (+125 over 1.7)??

Do I need 64MB Video RAM (+$149)??

From looking at video card tests, I don't see a frame rate improvement in going from 32 to 64MB.

Advice?? Comments??

Thanks

I would say more memory the better. Especially if you start turning up texture setting etc...

Yes, 64MB of vid memory is needed for serious gaming, it's becoming standard. It's 128MB that's not needed at all....yet :)

it's gonna be your only machine? cause you can pack a lot more power into a non-portable pc. (for so much cheaper). but hey, none of my business.
if you must play games on a notebook, you'll be much happier with the ati 7500 with 64mb. and get it b4 the 15th and get $100 off. I have a feeling you knew that though.
