These are the motherboards I'm currently considering; I'd like to keep my budget around $230, but it's flexibe:
ASRock Z170 Extreme4
ASRock Z170 Gaming K6
MSI Z170A GAMING M7
GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-Z170X-Gaming 7

Some of the relevant computer parts for my build that I'm more or less decided on:
G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB DDR4 2666
i7-6700K

The only motherboard brand I have some experience with is ASRock, as I currently own a ASRock Z77 Pro3 LGA 1155. I'm now picking out parts for my second computer build and am having trouble deciding on a motherboard. Between the motherboards above, what would you choose? I'm not very knowledgeable of motherboards, so any help would be appreciated. Feel free to recommend a motherboard I didn't link.

I want USB 3.1, a M.2 card slot, and solid overclock support, to name a few things. I think all of the motherboards I linked are good for these things.

Also, the motherboards I linked do not have a wi-fi adapter, and I'll be using wi-fi. If anyone could point me towards the direction in deciding which wi-fi adapter to buy, that'd be great.

This one has everything you want. usb 3.1, M.2 slot, good overclocking and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.0

review.

I saw this one, and my only concern was that it wouldn't support my ram since the ram I buy will run at 2666 MHz and the specifications of the ASUS SABERTOOTH Z170 MARK 1 just list DDR4 2400/2133 MHz.

Will you be doing SLI or crossfire? If so, how many cards?

In the review I posted it shows them using 3600 ram. It will easily run your 2600 ram

Oh, OK. Then it looks like I found my motherboard! I won't be purchasing it until around Black Friday/Cyber Monday to see if I can get any good deals on the motherboard as well as other computer parts.

Thanks for the help!

How about another Asrock? The Z170 OC Formula is a pretty solid board with tons of bells an whistles.

I'm currently using the asrock fatal1ty z170 mitx with 16gb ddr4 at 2666 and it seems to be working well. It has the integrated AC WiFi, bt 4.0 and m2 slot that you need. Decent OC in the bios.

Hey ed21x nice to meet you:)

In regards to fatality, I cannot respect this guy. He is a gamer not an overlocker. he knows what looks cool but not how it all works together.

I remember abit motherboards back in the day.....they had a reputation for being great clocking boards but as soon as the designed around fatality wendel. they went out of business.

Fatality cards and at one point Creative nearly went under.......

Fatality PSU'S AND RAM from OCZ and they VERY were very close to going under.
It seems everything that this guy has signed up to they haven't done too well.

Asus are good boards but poor customer service.
MSI I find have turned a corner and done really well since the X58 days.
GBT for me I feel have taken a step backwards since the childish gun-magazine heatsinks on the sniper series.

My best advice is STICK with a board that is designed for OVERCLOCKING first and then gaming second as OC boards are usually much more stable and last longer. If there are gimmicks like gun shaped heatsinks and fancy blinking LEDS then avoid then like the plague...........

Just an opinion though:)
