Help Picking Fans for supporting my O/C'd Palomino 1600+

Current Set-Up:

Palomino 1600+ O/C'd to 1.75Ghz @ 333Mhz FSB
Volcano 5 HSF Combo (Max. CFM:32)
SLK3700AMB w/ stock 120mm fan (Max. CFM: 107)

VCore hasn't been changed (bought used from Insane3D) from what it was when I got it. MB = Epox 8RDA+

Now, this current set-up is pretty loud for my tastes, so I'm looking into replacing the Antec 120mm fan with a Vantec Stealth. This halves my CFM to Max. 57CFM. The only way to get a quieter HSF is to upgrade the HSF to one that supports larger fans. I haven't decided on the which heat sink I want yet. Any suggestions (remember I'm looking for quiet...not silent...but quiet). Anyhow...the real question is this...

Will the loss of 50 CFM impact my temps a whole lot? (obviuosly it will affect it some). I've got some temps from 5.5 hours of Prim95 I'll post when I get home.

Temps as relayed by the BIOS of the EpoX 8RDA+:

Ambient: 25C
CPU: 49C

This was after 5.5 hours of Prime95. Now, I could have SWORN I've seen higher temps before while checking other things...so...I'm going to stress test this baby overnight (Prime95 + NAV Full Scan every hour). When I get up, I'll check for errors, shut'er down and fire'er up and check the temps. I will post them when I get to work.

considering palos maxed at 2100+, your oc is probably as good as it gets.

volcanos suck, a slk-800 would beat it. that being said, spending on a palo seems excessive. esp when jixhb 1800+ chips are out there that can hit 2.6ghz on air. sometimes coming with m/b at frys for 70 bux retail.

Thanks...but...I'm not interested in INCREASING my O/C...interested in getting rid of some unwanted fan noise. If I replace the 120mm stock exhaust fan with a Vantec Stealth I'm pretty much reducing my overall air displacement by 50% (107 Max. CFM to 57 Max. CFM). Now, in general, the thing is very cool (air exhausting out the back is cool during normal non-stressful usage).

That being said, my box has borked on me three times.

Time One: After 4+ hours of Age of Mythology I got a total reboot right in the middle of the game (gaming, gaming...blip! screen goes black and mb POST beep, et al.). This occured about 3 weeks after I built the system.

Time Two: Went to turn on the computer and got a rapid High-Low-High-Low....siren like beeping. Immediately turned the computer off. No documentation on that type of error beep (that I could find). Tried computer again, no problems. Haven't had a similar problem since. This was about a week after Time One.

Time Three: About two weeks after Time Two, After another 3+ hour session of AOM gaming, the box just froze. No inputs possible, no hard drive access, no CPU access, nothin'. Needed a warm reboot (correct use of the term? I used the reset button on the front of the case above the power button).

I've done heavy gaming at other times with no problems if you are wondering. Currently, the only game loaded is Age of Mythology.

Ran a small stress test last night.

Prime95 plus NAV Full Scan every 30 minutes.

Total time: 5 hours 47 minutes.
Total Errors: 0
Ambient Temp: 28C
CPU Temp: 52C

For reference, these are the same temps I get after 5 minutes of Prime95. I also closed up the room while it ran. The room was noticably warm when I opened the door this morning. Air venting out of the case was noticably warm too.

So, if I get a better HSF combo (better Heat Sink with about the same airflow fan ~ 30CFM) can I get by swapping out the stock 120mm case fan for a Vantec stealth? By the way, anyone have a similar set-up? Are my temps accurate?
