Help picking a Case.

For weeks I've been searching for a case. And I can't find any that I really want.

Looking for recommendations for cases that have no front door, come in black, have clear side panel look fairly classic, have 120mm fans if possible and pretty silient with atleast decent airflow.

Hardware:
AMD X2 3800+
DFI Ultra-D or ASUS premium
Zalman CNPS9500 LED
1 gig corsair value RAM
Samsung 7200.8

Well... it does have a front door and doesn't have a window but the Antec P180 is definetly in the top 3 cases right now imo. You can get it in black for $160 here >> http://www.endpcnoise.com/cgi-bin/e/p180.html Might be able to find it cheaper, but that's what I've found. It's an awesome case and you definetly wouldn't be dissapointed.

I like the P-180. But will the front door work with an X-fi front bay controller and would the remotes signal get through it?

Yes, the knobs would fit. Not sure about the remote

Edit: but the door swings all the way to the side panel of the case if you want the front open.

Kingwin 424 series (or Beantech Igloo series - actually the same case - computergate.com carries the Beantech brand) - ZZF has had the best selection and price on the Kingwin 424s.

. Coolermaster Praetorian (PAC-TO1 - designed by the Silverstone guys before they left - window is a $20 +sh option) or one of the Centurions. Check the Silverstones too, they have a couple w/o a door - the Temjin TJ-02/TJ-04 look like a good matches.

. Compucase 6A19 (usually carried by Directron and Mwave). Has no window but you can get ideas here: http://www.coolcases.com .

. There are plenty of others if you care to look for them.

Is the P-180 a huge case? How would it look next to the Lian-Li 7B Plus?
My brother gets lots of attention at college with his clear sided case I got for him and both my parents say that they like seeing the hardware and lights in cases. But I'm leaning towards the P-180 because it seems you get a lot more for the money.

Who wants a case that looks like Darth Vaders foot stool.

This is it. You said faily classic. Top quality with or w/o window. I've seen complaints about the door on the 180 here. Poor fit, bulge. The anodized finish is very durable in my experiance. I have 2 silver LL. Plus both side covers come off, there is no door to get inthe way on the side. There are no rubber mounts for the drives, that is a minus.
Everything on the two mid-towers i have fits very well. All seams line up super. gaps are all the same. It's few short comming are more than made up for by all the rest it offers.
2mm aluminum 😉

Galvanized

Slipped😱

'nother vote for the P180 - got mine friday and its freakin sweet! I like the door - can swing all the way open to the side if you want access to stuff - but if you dont need them, it looks very very sharp closed.

Do black drives look good in a black anodized case? I can buy stealth covers if I need to but I'd rather not.

Lian Li makes a lot of accessories for these cases like these:

DVD/CD Bezel Cover

This way the color of the drives you get does not matter.

The bezels of different brands of drives don't match each other and they seldom match the cases either. That's why there are cases with doors. 😉
