So she's turning 30 something Friday and doesn't really *need* anything. (Do any of us really *need* anything anymore?)

So, I'm trying to figure something out on my own. I mean, she literally has NO ideas about stuff for herself.

I thought a new iPod nano, but apparently she can get one thru work shortly based on some points system she's accumulated a lot of. So w/ that idea down I thought of a couple.

#1.) New bedding for the bed. (She complained our stuff is haggered & outdated & Kohl's has some good deals on 8pc beds in a bag, so figured that might be good......circa $130)

#2.) New car stereo w/ iPod hookup so she can play w/ her current iPod *and* new iPod whenever she gets it. (Best Buy has a JVC in their ad right now for like $89 + whatever for installation)

Opinions???

My wife just went shopping for a bunch of new bedding and spent a bundle, but came home very happy (and proceeded to make me very happy), so I would go that direction.

I wouldn't pick bedding out on my own, without her help, so I picked the second thing.

Bedding. Make sure you know what she wants before you buy it so she doesn't have to drag it back to the store to exchange it.

There are some bedding sets that come with two full sets of sheets. Of course, if the sheets aren't high quality, that might not be a good idea.

consider how long she actually spends in her car and whether listening to her music everywhere she goes is important to her. for me, that would be an awesome gift because i love driving and drive fairly often and love to have my music with me wherever i go.

the new bedding is also a good idea if you are confident you can pick something more kinda luxurious that she will really like. but since its kinda for you too, throw something a little special in there for her like say, maybe let her open the bedding the night before her birthday so she can be sleeping in it the morning of (of course you washing it first for her would be double awesome) and then maybe a little breakfast in bed with a few fresh flowers on a nice bed tray. that would be really sweet and im sure she would really appreciate it!

steps to giving the unbeatable gift:

1. cut a hole in the box
2. put your junk in that box
3. make her open the box

Gift card to Kohl's so that she can purchase whatever she wants/needs. If you pick up a bedding set that she wont like, I dont know what will happen of you :p

<< still single (so take everything I say on this topic with a grain of salt...rice is expensive nowadays ;))

Bedding all the way ... if you arn't confident about picking somthing she'll like the gift certificate is also a good idea.
