Help! Physical memory dump error *FIXED*

I just got some new Kingston 1GB DDR PC3200, and I can't get it to run above 166mhz. If I do i get a physical memory dump error. In the BIOS i have to lower the performance to 166Mhz, 'auto' or 'by SPD' will cause it to run at 200mhz and then i get the error. Isn't this ram supposed to run at 400mhz?? Thanks for and help.

I see from your sig that your system is overclocked, set the ram to 166 then when you are in windows run cpu-z and see what speed your memory is actually running at.

edit: btw it's supposed to run at 200MHz but Double Data Rate (DDR) effectively gives 400MHz

ha thanks for the clearing that up. I ran cpu-z and it says my the the bus speed is at 400.9Mhz (the OC is because the multiplier is set to 11). The memory is running at 167mhz. But the prob happens when i set it to 200mhz, then i get the error. Bad RAM?

yea it's saying 200mhz, but when i set it to that in the bios i get the error. The bios is updated to version 1010 (the latest) so that shouldn't be an issue.

setting 200/166/133 etc. in the BIOS doen't mean that's the speed your ram will run at, it's just a divider so an overclocked system will have to lower the memory divider to take the cpu past the point where the ram maxes out

Is that 1, 2 or 4 sticks? Check that timings are correct & if it's set to 1T or 2T. Also check voltage & you might try disabling bank interleaving.

just 1 stick, from kingstons web site and cpu-z it says the proper setting for 200mhz are: CL3.0, RAS to CAS 3, RAS% 3, Tras, 8. And like i said those settings cause the error to appear. And i dont have any settings for bank interleaving. Also the voltage is set to the correct setting (2.6v)

I just put the ram in my friends AN35-N and it worked fine running at 400mhz. So this has to be an issue with the mobo.
